This is the 2nd largest trash incinerator in the U.S. There has been a protracted effort to shut it down (starting when it was first proposed)!

The design on drawing books was to burn 4,000 tons/day
Actual size constructed was 3,300 (3 boilers at 1,100 tons/day each)
The most they ever burned was 2,800 tons/day.
As of Feb 2011, they're burning about 1,500 tons/day.
