Nukenet,
We are lead by the nose on what to think and believe
from womb to tomb because we want money that buys
'goods and space' as a scholar of comparative religions
said.
'Are you surprised a professor friend would say? Not now!
I am 57 years old and with age came more clarity. Some
people would dominate and even murder the whole world
then call it 'freedom'.
Human rights are won by a long and bloody struggle. First
a teacher said', 'you lose those rights' usually to a King or
dictator. That is the reason we need human rights.
We are less free and safe if we give up those hard won
human rights. Yet some people are only too happy to
give away everyone's rights to feel safe! As someone
said, 'they deserve neither'!
A line from a song, 'Ebony and Ivory' says it right. "There
is good and bad...in everyone". We can only lean toward
the good, says a teacher. The Buddhists say to achieve
freedom, we must embrace all. But it is difficult to do yet
some people want freedom!
Mother Nature is not fooled. At some point she sends the
bill. Everyone will pay it with our money and our lives.
Regards,
Dennis F. Nester
