Is anyone surprised? If they haven't died what will they say when there's
an attack, accidental meltdown and or boiloff? We'll get it right next time,
I'm sure. These people need a psychological evaluation that's 100% open to
the public to determine how qualified they are or aren't to carry on their
mission to protect the public.
I'm serious about the need for a psychologist[s], not on anyone's
nuclear[this means NRC obviously] payroll to evaluate all these people and
to have evaluations each and every year until Indian Point is decommissioned
or it's attacked, melts, boil-offs.
Does anyone have any feedback on this idea?

Although the owner of the Indian Point nuclear plant says its new siren
system works, federal regulators said yesterday that the plant had missed
its third deadline for installing the system and could face fines. The old
system remains in place and would be used in case of an emergency. The
sirens are intended to alert residents within 10 miles of the plant of a
major problem. The plant owner, Entergy Nuclear, said two days before the
Aug. 24 deadline that the new system was ready, but it had not been approved
by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The Nuclear Regulatory
Commission said yesterday that approval, which could take 45 days or more,
was needed to meet the deadline. Jim Steets, an Entergy spokesman, said the
company believed approval from FEMA would happen as "we were putting the
system into place."
