NIRS is hiring! Please circulate the availability of this new position
widely! Thanks!

Nuclear Power Economics/Finance Campaigner

Nuclear Information and Resource Service (NIRS) <http://www.nirs.org>
is seeking to fill a newly-created position focused on the economics and
financing of nuclear power. NIRS (and our affiliate WISE, World
Information Service on Energy <http://www10.antenna.nl/wise/> ) is a
small, extremely active non-profit international information and
networking clearinghouse for the grassroots sustainable
energy/environmental movement. The ideal candidate will have a working
knowledge of energy economics and financing issues as well as the
congressional appropriations process, be able to explain such issues to
activists, the media and general public, a desire to initiate and
maintain campaigns on such issues, and a dedication to NIRS' mission and
to grassroots empowerment. This position reports to NIRS' Executive
Director.

The nuclear power industry is seeking a resurgence. Yet nuclear power
has proved to be not only an environmental disaster, but also an
economic boondoggle for many utilities and tens of millions of
ratepayers and taxpayers. This position will work to eliminate taxpayer
subsidies for nuclear projects, to prevent other public and private
investment in nuclear facilities, to protect ratepayers and taxpayers
from detrimental financing schemes, to expose nuclear power's inability
to solve the climate crisis, and to promote economically sound
sustainable energy technologies.

Thanks and No Nukes!
