August 6th and 9th mark the 62nd anniversary of the atomic bombing of
Hiroshima and Nagasaki.  Communities across the world will be commemorating
these events. 

The United States Congress will soon decide whether or not to fund new
nuclear warheads and the rebuilding of the US nuclear weapons complex.  It
is time for a national debate on U.S. nuclear weapons policy and you can
help move us toward a nuclear weapons free world.

ATTEND OR ORGANIZE AN EVENT to commemorate the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima
(August 6) & Nagasaki (August 9):

In particular, we invite you to commemorate the atomic bombings of
Hiroshima and Nagasaki at the place where the U.S. government is creating
the NEXT horrific nuclear weapon -- the Lawrence Livermore National
Laboratory in California.

Date: Monday, August 6, 2007

Time: Gather at 7:30 AM

Location: Near Livermore Lab Main Site west gate; at Vasco Road and
Westgate Drive, Livermore.

Keynote Speaker: Bob Watada, father of Ehren Watada who refused deployment
to Iraq.

Silence and reflection: 8:15 AM, the moment that the first atomic bomb in
history was dropped in war - on the people of Hiroshima, Japan.

Nonviolent direct action: At the gates; follows the commemoration, for
those who so choose.
