Dear Friends,
On May 11-13th, 2007 we are holding a special Mother's Day Gathering at
our base camp in Cactus Springs and the Nevada Nuclear Test Site (NNTS).
Everyone is invited to join us in honoring Newe (Western Shoshone)
Spiritual Leader, Corbin Harney, the Newe (Western Shoshone) Nation, and
to support the vital work of nuclear abolition.
Corbin has brought spiritual healing to the world and continues to make
invaluable contributions to many important political, environmental and
indigenous struggles. He has been fighting for all of us and all life on
this Mother Earth for decades. Even if you are unaware of the affects of
his years of dedicated service, rest assured that the world we live in
has, and still is, being benefited from his prayers, ceremonies and
laborious work regarding environmental, social and political change.
This event is important for numerous reasons, including:
1. providing support for Corbin at a very challenging time in his
life;
2. assisting the Shoshone Nation in their efforts to end genocidal
practices by the US government and maintaining their Traditional way of
life;
3. participating in ceremonies for the benefit of all life on
Earth;
4. applying political pressure to stop the Yucca Mountain Project,
discontinue nuclear uses of the NNTS (including "sub critical" nuclear
tests and nuclear waste dumping), resisting the re-escalation of the
nuclear arms race by refusing Complex 2030;
5. providing public service by educating on-site and remote
participants with information and tools for effective change in these
issues and more (see websites below for specifics).
We cannot do this without your financial help. We urgently need
donations for this event!!
Only by uniting in action to protect future generations, we will
succeed. Please contribute to this work by making checks payable to CER,
a 501c(3) non-profit organization and mailed to:
CER
104 Commercial St NE
Salem OR 97301
(Please write in memo on check: "NTS w/ Corbin '07")
All donations are tax deductible.
Center for Energy Research (CER) is the fiscal sponsor of Shundahai
Network. Shundahai Network is a non-profit nuclear abolition, Native
American rights organization, founded at the request of Corbin Harney.
We appreciate the time and attention you have given to this issue. We
thank you for your contributions and support!!
In Peace & Harmony with all Creation, Shundahai,
Julia Moon Sparrow
