Greetings –
There’s a radioactive core from the Genoa nuclear reactor site that is
sitting on a RR siding near La Crosse, ready to start a cross country
journey by rail to S. Carolina where it’s scheduled to be buried/put out
of service. Bonnie Urfer of Nukewatch wants to follow the train and
document the trip, at least through Illinois – for the next four days –
and is looking for someone to help drive along with her…..leaving today
or within the next day or so.
A national nuclear watchdog group, NIRS, is doing a big press release
nationally about the dangers of transporting nuclear waste on our
rails/roads – and this WI “train-watch” trip would tie in with their big
national push for nuclear safety.
So, if you know of someone who might like to participate in this
important work, have them call Bonnie at Nukewatch in Luck –
715-472-4185 today … .
