Thanks for the heads-up on this Kay,
Our organization runs a non-profit bookstore that supports our work, so it's
always good to know of relevant titles. I checked our books-in-print and the
second edition in paper is still in print. The ISBN for the book is (10
digit) 1568580193 / (or 13 digit) 9781568580197
While you can get it from Amazon, you also could support your local
bookstore and purchase or order it there. This keeps money in the local
economy and supports diversity, rather than corporate monoculture.
All the best,
Mark Haim

The Petkau Effect: Nuclear Radiation, People and Trees by Ralph Graeub,
describes radiation effects from nuclear plants on trees (and people and the
ecosystem). It is translated from the German, and is available in both hard
copy and paperback at Amazon etc. One printing is more current. This is an
excellent book! It used to be available from 4 Walls, 8 Windows - don't know
if that is still the case. -Kay Cumbow

Dear all --
Does anyone know of measured threats to Cumberland forests from emissions
at any stage of the nuclear fuel cycle -- studies, contacts, links ...
We've started researching a documentary on threats to the mixed mesophytic
forest regions along the plateau especially. With mining, leaching,
processing, disposal et al, it would seem logical that there would be a
radiological effect that would enter the forest life-stream and ecosystem.
We've put up this page to describe what we're about:

If you have information please advise. Thanks,
